Boobies, Blocks, Duel

Hey Bumfuzzlers! Sink your teeth into some of these tasty updates! We’ve got an arcade game addition to loot,  enhanced booby traps, a contest for naming the bot,  raid material stacking changes, foundation health changes, a new feature for raiders, fixes to crafting, raid alerts and more! Read on for more information!

Booby Traps

I’m happy to say we’ve got some great improvements with booby traps that will ensure they become a true defensive ability.

Here are some of the changes:

  • Traps are no longer triggered by the owner
  • Traps are no longer triggered by friends of the owner
  • Traps are no longer triggered by clan mates of the owner
  • Depending on your level you can booby trap using:
    • Level 16: Elements (Fire, Shock, Radiation)
      • Fire: Requires 100 lowgrade fuel
      • Shock: Requires 1 Fuse
      • Radiation: Requires 5 Radiation Pills
    • Level 22: Deployable (Landmines, Bear Traps)
      • Bear Traps: Requires 3 Bear Traps
      • Landmines: Requires 3 Land Mines
    • Level 29: Explosives (Beancan, F1Grenade, C4)
      • Beancan Grenade: Requires 1 Beancan Grenade
      • F1 Grenade: Requires 1 F1 Grenade
      • C4: Requires 1 C4

These traps are meant to make things difficult for raiders either by killing them or by delaying them enough for you to defend. For instance, the fire trap can make a large area unusable because it takes a while until the flames go out. Whether booby-trapped boxes and doors are opened or destroyed, the trap is triggered either way. Set a fire trap on your front door and it will immediately delay raiders for a couple of minutes or at least force them to take a different course.

Also, in case you’re curious, the landmine and beartrap traps will scatter those items around the affected area. This is great for boxes since the moment someone opens a box, they are surrounded by traps and they may not realize one is behind them. Best not to set this near boxes you care about though since someone stepping on one may destroy the others.

Chippy Arcade Game

You may have noticed the Chippy Arcade Game was placed into the loot. Maybe you even got it already!

You should find it easily out there in crates! Play a few games while you wait for those metal frags to cook! It appears to keep high scores too!

Raid Alerts

There was an issue with raid alerts, you know – the feature that allows you to get Discord and mobile alerts when someone is raiding you? Yeah, that one.

Now when you’re sleeping in your base,  while you’re at work bringing home the bacon, you’ll know when someone is taking your Pookie Bears!

In the game, type /pbreg “Your Username#xxxx”, you’ll get a message from PoundBot in Discord on how to complete the setup. The #xxxx is a four-digit number you’ll find is attached to your Discord account.

Hammer Crafting

For some reason, hammers were crafting slowly while everything else was instant crafting.

Now it’s resolved so you can craft hammers in the blink of an eye.

Also, it appears there is some conflict with the crafting Quests (/q) and instantly crafting. It appears at best, that Quests will count 10 crafted bandages as 1, but that may not even work. I’m not sure how to resolve this yet, but I’ll do more testing when I have more time.

Teleporting

Welp, I realized I had a setting turned on that I didn’t want on.

You can no longer teleport to another player who is in a building blocked zone. This should help make raiding slightly more challenging. Whoops!

Naming Bot

So I’m thinking the bot needs a name. I know he’s just a bot, but ‘bot’ is a little boring and I can’t imagine he likes that very much.

Get me over what you think would be the best name, I’ll take which ones I think are best and put them in a Discord poll. If yours wins, I’ll give you either the Christmas, Halloween or Electricity package from the shop for 2 weeks! I’ll also build in a couple of sayings for the bot that include your name 🙂 For instance, “How did you get your name <BotName>?

Couple guidelines thought:

  1. Be unique. It should be a name that players wouldn’t say naturally. For instance, his name wouldn’t be Gear.
  2. Something easy to remember and spell. For instance, Earl.
  3. If possible, it might fit with the server theme. This is challenging!
  4. Submit as many as you want!

I found this site that generates potential robot names that might help. Scroll down and click Get Robot Names in the white box.

Raid Materials

It might be a little much to allow raiders to have multiple stacks of 256 rockets. Think?

I’ve lowered the stacking size of the following items from 256 to 16:

  • Basic Rockets
  • Fire Rockets
  • High-Velocity Rockets
  • Satchel Charges
  • C4 Explosives

Given that we have backpacks, this change shouldn’t have a huge effect, but at the least, it’ll prevent raiders from having tons of inventory space to haul stuff away. Maybe base owners will have the opportunity to keep some of their stuff.

Let’s see how things go. Give me feedback on this.

Raid Blocking

Since the beginning of Rust, I’ve believed that raiders have, at least, a slight advantage. It takes far less time to destroy a base than it does to build and maintain one even when you consider farming for charcoal and such. Due to this, I’m tinkering with something new.

If you destroy someone’s stuff, you’ll be automatically blocked from using certain abilities for 3 minutes.

  • Remove Tool (/remove)
  • Teleport (/tp or /home)
  • Trade (/trade)
  • Shop (/s)
  • Kit (/kit)

This block will affect the raider immediately, but also anyone within the general area and those who enter the general area who are friends or clanmates of the raider and also anyone who is authorized on any cupboard the raider owns. The owner of the building will not be blocked.

The raid block will end:

  • After 3 minutes
  • On the blocked person’s death
  • On the blocked person’s respawn

The raid block will restart at 3 minutes if the raid continues.

Hopefully, this can give base owners a little more time to defend and/or sign on after being alerted by the Raid Alert. If you’re going to raid, you’re going to have to make sure you planned it well!

Foundation Wipes

A while back I raised the health of foundations to prevent the demoralizing “foundation wipe”. When it happens to someone it’s really discouraging and many times they leave the server – sometimes to never return or at least they typically won’t return until next wipe cycle. This current wipe cycle, it seems to have happened at least once.

The ability to wipe a foundation defeats the purpose of base defenses and all the effort put in by a builder to protect their stuff. Why bother with turrets and shotgun traps if you can just disregard it all from a rocket’s length away? It even makes the new and improved booby traps a waste of time.

I’ve raised the health of foundations another 50%. This should make it a little less lucrative to spend rockets on making someone’s day miserable.

Bot Tips

Over the last week, I’ve made a concerted effort to expand the random messages that pop up in the chat but also to use them to highlight some of the lesser-known features.
So, I’ve expanded the number of messages, tried to make them more informative, cover more topics, renamed them to be Bumfuzzler Bot Tips (soon to be replaced with the name of the bot), and I made the message more prominent so they stand out. Hopefully, players will better know the benefits of all the features we have.

Dueling

Some of you have been discovering how much fun the duels are. For those of you who haven’t partaken, I highly recommend it! It’ll help you polish those PVP skills without the fear of losing gear, items or resources.
I decided to mix things up a bit and add some new features to it.
  • Added 2 new loadouts to the mix
    • Mace Loadout: Gives that melee battle opportunity
    • Rocket Launcher, Pistol, and Build Loadout: Spawns players with enough resources to build structures, but also destroy them
  • Top 3 Duelists will now have access to the Duelist kit (/kit)

You can type !duel for more information about getting involved in duels!

If you have any weapon combination ideas, please let me know! I’ll add them!

Event Messages

There are certain events that get lost in chat and that’s unfortunate because that will likely cause you to miss out on things. So, just like the Bot Tips, I’ve tried to highlight these events better in chat.

Hopefully, messages for events will now grab your attention as they have bold colors and larger font.

I’m hoping that this increases the usability of certain features and improves communication. It’s been annoying for some time that it’s possible to miss teleport requests for instance. No more!

Fuel Requirements

It appears that the Level 26 (/loyalty) perk to not require fuel in certain items like candle hat, lanterns, miners hat, searchlight, and tuna light hasn’t been working as expected which meant fuel was required even when it shouldn’t have been.

It appears some permissions that were there before, were missing!?! Weird. Anyhow, I added them back.

Mind you, this one I was unable to find time to test. I assume the permissions were the issue. Please let me know if it doesn’t work as expected.

Text Symbols

You might notice we have exclamation marks next to a lot of text. They used to be nice symbols. Facepunch screwed that up with a patch or two ago so now symbols don’t work. I’m going through now and removing all my hard work which sucks, but what can you do?
If you have a minute, please upvote my suggestion at Facepunch to fix this https://rust.nolt.io/3715 so we can have purty symbols again!

Wipe

Our next wipe is Thursday, July 4th, unless Facepunch delays it due to Independence Day – which I doubt since they’re Brits! 🙂 You can expect the map, blueprints, and economy to wipe, but of course, all other things like Z levels and Loyalty will remain – they never reset. Usually, Facepunch drops the patch between 3 pm and 7 pm EST so there’s a large window there. Unfortunately, I can’t promise time exactly.
I’m excited for July as it brings Independence Day! The server will celebrate by keeping the Flag Memorial monument, but I have something special planned that I hope will work out. It’s a completely custom plugin for Bumfuzzlertopia! Never before seen and awesomely American! 🙂 Think fireworks!

Hey Bumfuzzlers! I’ve got a couple of changes to tell about before Thursday’s map wipe! News on randomized skins, crafting instantly, scuba gear availability, quests and more! All that and info on tomorrow’s wipe, plus another mandatory Facepunch patch on Friday? /crosses fingers lol Give a read to find out more!

Diving Gear

I reviewed the diving gear availability and it seemed a little low. Also, it was spawning in the underwater loot which seemed weird lol

I changed the following:

  • removed from underwater crates
  • increased availability slightly

Instacraft

We had instacraft a while back and then adjusted it to require some crafting time. It feels like it’s time to go back to instacraft and apparently the majority of you agree.

We had a poll in Discord and while the nays valiantly voted, the yes sirs had double them. Now Instacraft is enabled so there won’t be any more waiting to craft individual items or bulk items.

Let’s see how it turns out.

Skin Randomizer

Skins have been messy lately and the last major patch broke some stuff. For instance, you probably noticed that skins no longer randomized on crafting.

Well, I just fixed it this morning. Now every time you craft, you’ll get a randomized skin on items that support skins. Glad this is working again. I love the varied look of bases!

Wipe Info

Thursday 6/20, Bumfuzzlertopia will be wiping the map. Blueprints and economy will stay in place as they only wipe on the first of the month. For those who don’t know, we wipe twice a month.

  • Wipe #1: First Thursday of the month – wipes map, economy, and blueprints
  • Wipe #2: Third Thursday of the month – wipes map only

I considered wiping economy on this 3rd Thursday, which is why I started that Discord poll, but players are broken down the middle and truth is I tend to think it’s a reward for playing the entire month instead of just a 2-week wipe cycle. Also, it doesn’t matter because the economy is only really good for buying blueprints which players will have at the start of the second monthly wipe cycle anyway.

I’m hoping to wipe around 4 pm EST at the latest and we’ll be going with this map if you’d like to get a head start planning your base!

P.S. – Friday brings a mandatory Facepunch patch. I haven’t gotten the time yet. This means I’ll have to update the server for you to join after your clients auto-update. I’ll do my best to communicate the planned time. I’m waiting on them.

Hey Bumfuzzlers! Seems we had a somewhat tumultuous patch this last Thursday as the powers at Facepunch were giving us some tough love! Despite that, the storm was weathered, and changes have been made! We’ve got loot modifications, gather rate changes, a new power source, new server listing description, stacking changes, server menu updates, a spooky mask and 2 discord polls begging your opinion and more!

Patch Overview

For those of you who would rather not read the list of changes in the last patch, here’s a solid overview of what we got.

Server Browser

Not sure why, but I’ve been contacted by a few people who say they can’t connect to the server, mainly due to not seeing it in the server list. Maybe this shouldn’t be surprising due to the recent changes to it.

If you find you have this issue, you can connect directly via the console.

  1. Press F1
  2. Go to the console
  3. Type connect 216.155.140.108:28016

That’ll do it.

Also, I’ve been trying to make the server’s representation in the server list better. That means I’ve updated the server description and modified the title to include common keywords for searching. I’ve also changed the name to Bumfuzzlertopia in case you were looking for the old name. This was only to give me more room in the server title – saved 4 characters lol

Language Filter

Now when you curse, it will show the word Bumfuzzler in orange so at least others know you cursed and didn’t type Bumfuzzler intentionally. This also ensures I’m no longer confused as to whether you’re talking to me 🙂 but then maybe you are talking to me saying nasty things? Yikes! I hope not lol

As the resident bot says, “It’s not a restriction. It’s meant to be funny and promote the server name. Why not expand your vocabulary? I know how to say 1,534,201 English words! You know about 4 :)”

Is it better without the color? It might be. Let me know.

Stacking

There were a couple of items I forgot to set up for stacking earlier so now I’m swinging back to get them straight.

I changed the following items:

  • Grenade launcher Buckshot: changed from 24 to 256
  • Grenade launcher HE: changed from 12 to 256
  • Grenade launcher Smoke: changed from 12 to 256
  • Heavy Scientist Suit: changed from 1 to 256

Gathering ZLevels

I’ve been looking at the resource gathering because I’m trying to market the server better in the server list. Most servers advise what the gather multiplier is, like 3x or 5x, but the way the server was setup, it’s hard to do that.

If my math is correct, which it might not be lol, on joining, the server was almost a 3x gather rate when you’re at Level 0. As you work yourself closer to Level 50, that 3x grows slowly towards 6x. This seems a bit too close to an experimental server if you ask me. So, I set my sights on making the server a 5x server as I think that’s much more reasonable.

Here’s what I changed:

  • The initial multiplier of 2.8 was changed to 3.0
  • The percentage per level was changed from 0.75% to 0.40%

Theoretically, this means for new players they should have 3x gather rate, but over the course of 50 levels, it should be possible to get 5x gather rate.

If you find my math is wrong, please let me know :/ lol

Server Menu

It appears the menu you see as you join the server needed a bit of updating so I took a moment to do that. The hope is it’s now accurate, but also provides an improved overview of server features. Here are some snaps of what it’ll look like next time you join.

The main menu you see when joining (/ui) should now showcase a bit more of the features the server has.

The plugins tab had a few plugins we no longer used so I removed them and added a bunch more!

The sightings tab showed Trump Tower and Hillary House, but neglected to show the latest addition – The Southern Border!

Hopefully, this gives new players an understanding of the depth of features on the server and gives veteran players the ability to point unanswered questions to the menu in certain situations.

Loot Changes

I had a couple of comments on the loot so I jumped into it and tried my best to balance things out. It’s not an easy task and it’s an ongoing process so this requires constant feedback from you Bumfuzzlers.

Here’s what I changed:

  • Adjusted mine crates to have higher quality tools. Previously it had only the lower level hatchet and pickaxe.
  • Adjusted medical crates to give more medical items. It gave extremely low quantities and only 1 item.
  • Adjusted components specifically increasing gears and springs
  • Adjusted component spawning areas. Some items spawned in barrels that shouldn’t and the opposite in crates.
  • Decreased the amount of beancan grenades. They can only now be found in the better crates.
  • Removed scrap from food crate to ensure food always spawns there. Sometimes it spawns only 1 item.
  • Loot in the Elite, locked, and Underwater Advanced crates should be much better now.
  • Moved some better items like Large Furnaces out of barrels and into higher level crates.
  • The spooky Dragon Mask was added to the loot. You should find it in barrels.

Color Fiasco

Facepunch changed the way text is displayed in the game and in turn they made changes to how text colors are displayed. This game used to accept red text to be coded simple as <color=red>RedText</color>, but now it has to use proper HTML like <color=#FF0000>RedText</color>. This meant, before the patch hit, I had to go through several hundred files and change every mention of color, which was typically written as red, green, blue, purpose, etc. to its hexadecimal value.

I’m just mentioning it because if I missed one, you’ll see <color=red>TheText</color> in chat instead of seeing TheText. If that happens, let me know what the text said and I’ll track it down.

Steam Workshop

Apparently, there were some changes in Rust and/or Steam as of late and this has caused some problems for various plugins. I expect it has to do with the new menu with the store integration we received in the last patch. Most likely something was changed there which borked everything else.

This means some plugins like Skinbox may not function properly or at all. I was able to fix a couple, but the changes could be far-reaching and not initially noticeable.

If you find something not to be working as expected, please let me know.

I appreciate all the feedback I received so far more notably AxelsAntagonist who went through much of the plugin list to test what was and was not working. Thanks!

Small Generator

We’ve had the small generator available for some time, but I didn’t add it because it’s a really powerful tool. After all, it’s unlimited power which can give some nice abilities.

The point was made that cave base designers can’t really take advantage of many electricity options so I finally caved.

Here’s the lowdown:

  • Unlimited power, great for caves
  • Can be found everywhere electrical components are found
  • Rarer than solar panels so slightly harder to find

This should be a great perk for everyone and it’s not something you’ll find on most servers.

Economy Wipe

I’m toying with the idea to wipe the economy at every wipe as I’m not sure if it’s fair to give some players to have such a large advantage. Starting off with a ton of RP, after you’ve found all the blueprints is maybe too much. Blueprints already give a large advantage.

The question for the poll is:

‘Should I wipe the economy at every wipe? I’m thinking someone starting at the 2nd wipe cycle has a disadvantage and that may not be fair’

Instacraft

Another poll on Discord is about Instacraft. We used to have instant crafting, but I modified it down to be slower because I felt it was way too easy to quickly amass a serious arsenal.

If the response strongly favors having it, I’ll likely be persuaded. Consider how it affects gameplay though. It’ll likely ensure early raids go up. Then again, so might early defenses.

The question for the poll is:

‘I believe instacraft is an important feature to have. I don’t like waiting for items to craft and think it should be immediate’

No Fuels

It turns out that the entire server was fueled up unintentionally.

Now it’s not until Level 26 (/loyalty) that players don’t require fuel for various lights and whatnot.

Flag Day Kit

Apparently, the kit for the Flag Day Monument wasn’t working. Thanks for the heads up AxelsAntagonist and for testing Non-Existant. It should be all good now.

This last patch wasn’t quite a disaster, but it certainly had its moments lol Today, I optionally patched the server which will hopefully alleviate some of the issues that have been going on, but tomorrow, Thursday 6/13, Facepunch is dropping a mandatory server and client patch. We won’t have to wipe as far as I know, but once your client is updated, you won’t be able to connect until I update the server. As long as I can keep on top of when it’s released, I’ll have it patched up in 10-15 minutes. The trick is, the patches drop whenever Facepunch feels the itch.

Hotel, Alerts, Cinco

Hey Bumfuzzlers! I’ve got quite a lot of news this time around. Changes to Military Crate loot, animal riding is back, we’ve got zambie bunnies?, Discord raid alerts, a hotel, bow skin perks… just too much to list. Give it a read for yourself!

Military Crate Loot (Modtopia)

For some reason, the Military Crates had really poor loot. Now, I can say it’s pretty good.

I haven’t necessarily added new items to the crates, but I removed lesser items so those better items rise the surface much more often.

Riding Animals (Modtopia)

We used to be able to ride animals, but there a bug that stopped players from shooting animals at long distances so we disabled it. Now it appears that issue is resolved.

All you have to do is type /tame around animals, whether it’s a bear or a chicken, and you can then mount them and run around the countryside! Keep in mind you can also make animals your pets (/pet) and use them for storage, attacking other players and animals!

Zambie Bunnies (Modtopia)

It appears politicians are now dressing up as Easter Bunnies!

These zambies will be less common, but if you find one you’ll be happy as they hold additional items such as bronze, silver and gold eggs, egg baskets and so on. The items that are seemingly worthless will be used in some new quests (/q) that I’ll be creating soon.

Also, I changed the numbers a bit to make zambie encounters more frequent but traded larger zambie groups for more hordes.

  • Number of hordes changed from 20 to 40
  • Initial horde size changed from 5 to 3
  • Total size of hordes changed from 15 to 8

This should be about the same amount of zambies, but it’ll spread them out a bit more. Just keep in mind, hordes may be larger than 8 since they do merge if they meet!

Night Resources (Modtopia)

The multipliers on the night resources have probably been a bit out of control for quite a while and I think it’s time I nerf them just a little.

I’ve adjusted resource gathering at night as follows:

  • Points per hit (amount zlevels go up): changed from 40 to 35. During the day this is 30.
  • Resource Multiplier (amount each zlevel multiplies gather rate): Changed from 3.4 to 3.1. During the day this is 2.8.

Let’s see how this goes for a bit.

Discord Raid Alerts (Modtopia)

We can’t all be awake when the rockets hit the walls so, now you have a tool to help you know when things are going south.

In the game, type the following command where “Your Username#7263” is your Discord username.

/pbreg “Your Username#7263”

After you do this, you’ll receive a code and a prompt in Discord. Reply in Discord with the code and you’ll get alerted whenever something of yours is damaged by someone other than you!

Bumfuzzler Lodge (Modtopia)

Sometimes it’s easy to get weary. Maybe you get raided a couple of times and you’re having a hard time getting started. Now there’s a place for you to go when things get rough.

The general premise is to have a safe space where players can have rooms, protection, etc. Mind you, I’m sure this opens things up to exploits and various buffoonery, so I’ll be weeding that out if possible and determining if this is a viable solution.

Here’s how it works.

  • Look for the orange shopping cart marker on the map (Press G)
  • Go to that location
  • Go in the front door and interact with the Hotel Manager. They’ll give you instructions.
  • You go through the hotel and activate the door you’d like (not all rooms are the same)
  • You’ll have the room for 2 days.

It appears after the 2 days someone else can rent the room and take your stuff so you’ll want to keep track of when your lease ends and renew it by accessing the door again.

Let’s see how it goes!

NPC Settings (Modtopia)

Some say the accuracy on the NPCs is too high so I made some changes.

By default, NPCs at the Southern Border and Cinco De Mayo would be set to an accuracy of 10 and damage of 1.0. I had the set to an accuracy of 6 and a damage of 0.6.

Now I’ve set them as follows:

  • Accuracy: 4
  • Damage: 0.4

This should make them far less potent, but I hope they still pose a challenge.

New Loot Items (Modtopia)

I’ve added a couple of items into the general loot table to make things more interesting.

Here’s what I added:

  • Chinese Lantern (barrels)
  • Dragon Door Knocker (barrels)
  • Butcher Knife (boxes)
  • Pitchfork (boxes)

Cinco de Mayo (Modtopia)

May’s celebration event is centered around Cinco de Mayo. I don’t want to say too much, but there’s a party with a bunch of bandits in a village out in the desert. You can join in, but once it gets rough, they don’t want you around!

Tread lightly and bring your party hat!

DeathMarker (Modtopia)

When you die, there’s a yellow dot on the map (key G). For a bit, it was massive in size.

Now the issue is resolved.

Finally, thanks to the latest patch, we have skins for the Hunting Bow! I’ve been waiting on this for a long time, so I jumped right on it and added skin perks! Behold Glory Sling, Falcon Flier, and Tactical Ace!

Stone Pickaxe Fix (Modtopia)

For a while now, the Stonely Dig, Stone Pickaxe 2.x Skin Perk has been popping up when crafting and I have been stumped trying to find out why. So I removed that specific skin and created a new 2.x Stone Pickaxe called Magma Dig.

Hey Bumfuzzlers! Hope all is well and Rust life is awesome! 🙂 I’ve got a few tidbits of info for ya with a couple changes and a couple additions. I’ve also got some plugin updates along with some early looks at a custom map design I’m working on. Who knows where that will go! 🙂 Read on!

Stacks of Stuff (Modtopia)

We received a few new items in the last patch so stacking needed to be adjusted.

Here’s what the new items will stack to:

  • Audio Alarm now stacks to 256
  • Chinese Lantern now stacks to 256
  • Dragon Door Knocker now stacks to 256
  • Dragon Mask now stacks to 256
  • Flasher Light now stacks to 256
  • HBHF Sensor now stacks to 256

Electricity Pack (Modtopia)

As you might remember, I added an electricity pack to the shop for any of you who’d like to experiment with electricity and support the servers at the same time! It already had all of the previously available components, but now I’ve added the new items.

The following items were added:

  • HBHF Sensor (4)
  • RAND Switch (4)
  • RF Broadcaster (4)
  • RF Pager (4)
  • Siren Light (4)

Dangerous Treasures (Modtopia)

The Dangerous Treasures event (/dtd) is a major source of electrical components so it seems only fitting that I’ve added the new electrical components to the mix.

The following items were added:

  • Audio Alarm
  • Flasher Light
  • HBHF Sensor
  • RAND Switch
  • RF Broadcaster
  • RF Pager
  • Siren Light

Backpacks (Modtopia)

I’ll be updating the backpack plugin just before the wipe. If everything goes well, it will work as it mostly always has, but in the future, it’ll give some room for change in how and when players use the backpack.

Here are some of the updates:

  • Option to “Only Save Backpacks on Server-Save” might help performance
  • Dropped backpacks now show “{Name}’s Backpack”
  • Limits of a small, medium, large backpack are now replaced with rows 1-7

This means I’ll be able to assign people a backpack with 1 row or 7. Initially, I won’t be expanding this, but I can see eventually making the backpack available earlier in the leveling system and potentially giving Blood|Level 30 the largest pack (/loyalty).

Traps (Modtopia)

Depending on your level (/loyalty) players have different abilities when it comes to traps. At Level 17, snap traps reset automatically after being triggered. At level 29, snap traps and mines don’t trigger for owners and friends of the owners.

With the update, at Level 29 (/loyalty) owners and their friends will be protected from traps, but it will also protect them when they are authorized at the cupboard.

Knock Knock (Modtopia)

There were issues with the knock, knock plugin where messages wouldn’t save. I’ve updated the plugin in an attempt to fix that!

Look at a door, and type /knock for further instructions to set a message! When knocking, players will get your message!

Night Lights (Modtopia)

If you’re Level 12 or above (/loyalty) you’ll have the ability to automatically turn on/off lanterns (and other fuel-based lights) at sunup or sundown (/lantern).  Now the plugin has been updated to take the Chinese Lantern and Cursed Cauldren into consideration.

Now you won’t be afraid of the dawk 🙂

Fuel Requirements (Modtopia)

If you’re Level 26 or above (/loyalty) you don’t need fuel for various lights. Now, this plugin incorporates the new Chinese Lantern item.

Player Challenges (Modtopia)

A while back I disabled a few challenges (/pc) because of exploits. I’m pleased to say I think I can enable a couple of them again.

I originally disabled the following challenges:

  • Architect (Structures Built)
  • Tailor (Clothes Crafted)
  • Medic (Players Healed)
  • Handyman (Structures Repaired)
  • Gunsmith (Weapons Crafted)

I’ll be enabling the following:

  • Architect (Structures Built)
  • Medic (Players Healed)

In addition, there’s a couple of other fixes:

  • Now NPC Kills section will show as expected
  • Supply signals will now rightly be ignored from stats

Custom Map

I’ve finally gotten around to messing around with map editing. I’ve wanted to design one since it’s been made possible, but I just didn’t have the time. Now that I have, I can tell you for sure, IT IS TIME-CONSUMING! lol, Then again I’m getting used to the editor and the ins and outs of the process. I expect to get faster and faster as I go.

I don’t have a name for the map yet, but I can tell you a few things and even show you a couple screenshots.

  • It’s 4k in size
  • There are lots of ‘islands’
  • Most land is separated by water
  • I’m about 10% finished lol

Here are some pictures, both from the editor and in-game.

Here’s a picture of an extension I made to the Military Tunnels. I always thought it was lame for the train tracks to disappear into nowhere. Now they go to a bridge that collapsed.

Here’s a shot in the game of the layout. As you can see, I have barely made a dent.

This is how it looks in the editor. There’s a great deal of water between the land, but what’s interesting is that the water isn’t that deep in all areas. In many of the areas, you can build directly in the middle of the water which might be interesting. Surely great for boat houses!

I’m trying to build a natural looking map that has some nice scenery, but also make boats important and useful. We’ll see how it turns out and if I ever finish it lol It looks small in that last picture, but I assure you it’s fairly large.

Wipe (Modtopia)

Thursday 2/21 Modtopia will be wiping the map, but blueprints and economy will remain. I’m expecting to wipe around 7:30-8pm EST. Sorry for it being so late, but unfortunately I won’t get home until then and due to various changes, I’d rather not attempt wiping from work. Vanillatopia will continue without a wipe.

Hey Bumfuzzlers! I’ve got a few changes here for you and I figured I’d let you know about them sooner than later. There’s some big fixes and key changes that will affect the way you play. We’ve got memory fixes, home changes and more animals! Let’s go!

Door Skinning (Modtopia)

If you can’t put a sweet skin on your sheet metal door, what good is Rust? Well, for a bit using Skinbox (/skinbox) to reskin sheet metal doors simply didn’t work, but it does now so get cracking!

Memory Returns (Modtopia)

We’ve had memory issues for a bit and it’s been quite annoying to players with lesser potatoes. It would cause the need for flushing memory and could sometimes cause crashing. Thanks to some trial and error and some great efforts from a few players, we have it figured out.

It appeared to be the mini map, which was awesome, but apparently, it’s buggy and needed to be put down. You can still use the G key to show you that map and you can use the RUST IO map if you’re like. That’s great if you have dual monitors.

Home Changes (Modtopia)

I’ve been stubborn with homes (/home) for a long time, and I may just go back to being stubborn if the new settings result in players traveling through the air more than they do otherwise. I’ve never liked having too many teleports (/tp) in general because it removes that element of survival  where you always get out of confronting much difficulty.

Anyhow, I’ve changed things a bit. Now there’s more homes, more uses, but slightly higher cooldowns and countdowns.

  • Default: Cooldown 5 minutes > 10 minutes, Countdown 15 seconds > 30 seconds
  • Legitimate: Homes 3 > 4, Uses 32 > 40, Cooldown 5 minutes > 8 minutes, Countdown 15 seconds > 25 seconds
  • Veteran: Homes 4 > 5, Uses 34 > 50, Cooldown 4 minutes > 6 minutes, Countdown 12 seconds > 20 seconds
  • Allegiance: Homes 5 > 6, Uses 40 > 60, Cooldown 3 minutes > 4 minutes, Countdown 10 seconds > 15 seconds
  • VIP: Homes 6 > 7, Uses 50 > 70, Cooldown 2 minutes, Countdown 5 seconds > 10 seconds
  • Blood: Homes 8, Uses 80, Cooldown 1 minute, Countdown 5 seconds

Note: the Blood level isn’t finished, but it’s coming. I’m sorry soundklown. I swear I’ll finish it soon. Time time.

Animal Limits (Modtopia)

With the memory issue hopefully resolved, I’ve gone ahead and raised the spawning limits of animals back to how they were before.

Here are the new counts:

  • Bear: old count 18, new count 27
  • Boar: old count 45, new count 54
  • Chicken: old count 26, new count 36
  • Horse: old count 18, new count 27
  • Stag: old count 27, new count 36
  • Wolf: old count 18, new count 27

Hopefully this makes for better hunting. I’ll review this again in the future, but give me some feedback. That always helps.

Discordonomics (Modtopia)

You can get a ton of money from just hanging out in Discord, but I don’t think it’s all that competitive.

Now the event, that previously allowed for 3 winners before, will only have one! That’s right. One person to get all the cash. That makes the event a really critical thing to get since you’re not only getting the cash, but you’re stopping others from getting it and using it against you!

Awesome things abound Bumfuzzlers! I’m really excited about a couple of things, but wait until  you hear about the horde! Also, we have key changes to the store, NPCs, performance and decay, based on your feedback! Let’s take a look at what’s what! All the following changes are for Modtopia.

Water Jugs

Turns out stacking water jugs can screw with the quantities inside them so I turned off stacking with them.

Now you can only put one water jug in a slot, but they won’t be accidentally emptied when an empty one is s stacked on top a full one. Thanks JackHillKing for the feedback!

Discordomics

I’ve been tweaking the Discord Economic event – where paying attention in Discord can win you big money – and I’m sure I’ll tweak it a bit more over time to create the proper balance. It’s fairly easy to get lots of money if you participate so there’s a danger of some people joining the top 1% somewhat rapidly lol

I’ve changed the values just a little bit:

  • Event occurs between 30-90 min instead of 40-120
  • Rewarded money was changed from $20-$80 to $15-$70

You’d be wise to pay attention to the Discord! You can get rich quick!

Decay

I did some testing with decay and I determined it was a little high. Building a reasonable sized base would result in being made a housewife for the entire wipe, filling the cupboard all day with resources. I’ve gone ahead and cut the required upkeep in half so it’s not so much of a burden.

This will hopefully result in more of you getting outside for some well needed Vitamin D. Thanks MrNiceGuy for your feedback and persistence!

Auto CodeLock

VIPs have had the ability to automatically place a code lock when placing doors, boxes, cupboards, lockers, etc. even when they didn’t have one in inventory. I’ve gone ahead and disabled that. Now VIPs will require a code lock in their inventory just like everyone else.

I’ll consider adding this back, but it seems it’s too easy to place doors for the code locks and then recycle them for free resources. I don’t believe players are doing this, but it easily could be and that’s not good.

Monument NPCs

The bots stationed at monuments should now parachute in! It looks really nice and makes more sense instead of having them simply appear out of thin air. Should be very cool to see when watching monuments like the rocket area since there are lots of NPCs there. All we need now is a plane!

Also, typically, when killing an NPC, the name of the bot would give your location away. For instance, if you were seen killing Trainyard Security, someone would know you were at the Trainyard. Now, the bot names are completely ambiguous so when someone sees you killing a bot in chat, they won’t know where you are. You can expect silly names like Joe Soldier, Guardsman Jones, Private Paul, Sergeant Stephen, Boxer Jones, Charlie, George, Jimmy, Agent Anderson, Stacy Glasses, Sammy Study, Michael Gasmask and so on. I am considering a themed name change, but let’s see how it goes.

Lastly, NPCs would shoot from quite a bit away. In fact, up to 120 meters. I was finally able to change this and now they’ll shoot at you from up to 75 meters. This should be realistic, but hopefully somewhat inaccurate. I’ll continue to adjust it as needed.

In-Game Store

As the dust settles on the store, I noticed some issues with various items there. Here’s a few of the things I changed:

  • Skin Perk Pickaxes are now sold 1 per purchase instead of 3
  • Removed buying 3 Salvaged Axes. Now you can only buy the Blueprint
  • I renamed the Salvaged Icepick, Hammer and Axe so interface is more organized
  • Changed values of all salvaged items to be more aligned
  • Lowered count and cost of Satchel Charges
  • Lowered Small Stocking quantity to 1 from 3
  • Lowered Super Stocking quantity to 1 from 3
  • Raised Super Stocking cost to 3
  • Added 4x Scope for purchase
  • Raised all ammunition 1 Reward Point

There’s a lot of balancing here yet to do, so please give me feedback!

Zombie Horde

I’ve just added a feature that I think is awesome and I think you’ll agree! Now, groups of zombies will spawn across the world. They’ll start out as smaller groups, but over time, they’ll grow! They don’t like to be attacked and will slaughter anything in their way! Now you have something to be afraid of! Not just Jason 🙂

Here’s how the horde works:

  • When a horde is destroyed, a new one will be created 5 minutes later
  • A new horde will contain 7 zombies
  • Hordes will grow up to sizes of up to 25 zombies
  • The world will contain 3 hordes
  • Hordes randomly spawn
  • A new zombie is added to the horde every 10 minutes
  • When the horde kills a player or NPC, a new zombie is added to the horde
  • You must put 100 meters between you and the horde for them to lose interest
  • Hordes will merge together if they meet

Unlike Jason, they have no health or damage changes and for the most part, they only have melee weapons.

Server Performance

Performance issues with the server are rare, but after doing some math it appears some work was needed. With NPCs and this new zombie feature, we are effectively adding to the player count so each NPCs uses near the equivalent of a slot. With that, I decided to up the server from 50 to 100 players to compensate. Hopefully any lag that existed before, even infrequently, is gone. I’ve already heard positive feedback about the change.

Mind you, this is doubling the cost of the server and changes like the Zombie Horde also cost money. Any donation, no matter how small (can donate $1!) is always appreciated.

I’ve re-enabled the Warp Master package which gives you more teleports, homes and teleporting abilities. With this you can teleport directly to grid coordinates and you can also use /tpb which teleports you back to where you teleported from. Very nice tools for Bumfuzzlers and only a couple bucks! This way you’ll get something for your support!

Fishing Improvements

In the past, all you could do was poke the water with a spear to get yourself a fish dinner, but I enabled a new feature with fishing that might be fun when you’re on your boat!

  • Start off with either a wooden or stone spear (stone gets better results)
  • With the spear selected, type /makefishingpole
  • Now that you have the fishing pole, go out to the water and type /castfishingpole

Keep in mind that there are a couple of criteria that add to your catch percentage:

  • Your attire is 10%
  • Your Items are 10%
  • The Time of Day is 10%
  • Your fishing pole or spear is 10%

For instance, I believe your catch percentage is less if you’re naked, have no inventory and your’e fishing at night with a wooden spear. If you want to know your chances just type /fishchance.

Also note that there’s a 10% chance you’ll get a random item!

Wipe Upcoming

On Thursday we’re going to have a map and blueprint wipe so get ready! I’m anticipating lots of new Rust goodies from Facepunch as well so it should be interesting!

Buried Loot, Discordomics, Guilt

Have I got an update for you Bumfuzzlers! 🙂 This one has a lot in it, so take your time, get some raw chicken, toss it on the grill and relax with your pookie bear! 🙂 We’ve got a bunch of fixes, new ways to earn money, buried treasure hunts, Discord integration and more! All of these changes apply to Modtopia unless otherwise stated. Read on!

Chat Bot

I view the chat logs as often as I can to understand what is confusing to players and/or what they have questions with and I also take note of questions I receive in other ways. As more explanation can never hurt, I made a couple modifications to the plugin list on the website and also expanded the bot a bit more.

To add additional help for players who may be unsure about commands or simply forget them, I did the following:

  1. I’ve added keywords that can be used with the exclamation point (!) to give you information on commands.

For example: !wipe, !trump, !hillary, !car, !trade, !horse, !kit, !home, !tp, !teleport, !ao, !offline, !bgrade, !mute, !clan, !friend, !map, !minimap, !pc, !challenge, !loyalty, !points, !prestige, !help, !admin and so on. I still have lots of add, but this is a start.

  1. You can ask the bot questions in plain English.

For example: How does radiation work? How do I use the map? How do I add members to my clan? How can I make a player shut up? How does offline protection work? How do I tp? How do I create a home? How do I create a terminal? How do I place a camera? How do I buy items? What can I spend money on?

Variations of these should work, but as I tweak it, the bot should become more fluid and answer more and more questions.  I would suggest using the word ‘how’ and then a keyword in your sentence. For instance, How do I delete home?, How do I create a home? and How do I set a home?

Your Dead Body

Apparently /where wasn’t working. I switched plugins and it works now. This one shows the grid and the distance so you can return to the scene of the crime and witness the silliness that most likely had occurred. Thanks for feedback Ron Swanson, ATaXiA, MrNiceGuy, isueIt and others.

Treasure Event

I had reports that the grid for the treasure chest event was not reported correctly both when typing /dtd or in the chat message provided when the event started. That should be sorted now and the grid should be reported properly so you can find the goodies! Thanks for feedback ATaXiA.

RustNET

Previously, accessing /rustnet would not give you much information on what you needed to do and it’s been a peeve of mine for some time. I just hadn’t gotten around to it. I’ve done some modification to give you some instructions on how to get started. Accessing /rustnet will advise you on how to create a terminal and get a terminal ID. Once you setup a terminal and access it to get the terminal ID,  you will see additional help. This one applies to Vanillatopia as well. Thanks isueIt for reporting the need.

Remote Turrets

The ability to link Remote Turrets to RustNET terminals was problematic in that it simply didn’t work! When typing the /rt command, nothing would happen. Now this is fixed so you can take control over your turrets to mow down those pesky chickens! 🙂 Thanks for feedback isueIt.

Auto Searchlights

There was a very strange issue that would come after taking control of a remote searchlight through a RustNET terminal. After disconnecting from the remote searchlight, everything would seem normal, but you couldn’t build and sometimes you could even experience random damage as if you were being burned or stuck on a barbed barricade! This wouldn’t affect anyone but you so the rest of the server would be fine. Restarting the server is the only thing that would fix the issue.

It turns out this seems to be a conflict with the Proximity Alert plugin – the plugin that allows you to be alerted about the presence of another player or NPC within a given distance. For now, since the /prox plugin has some issues, I’ve disabled it. I’ll look into it’s issues in the future, but I can’t promise anything 🙁 Thanks for feedback on this problem isueIt.

Raid Guilt

It’s been tame for a while. I’d like to see a little more raiding going on and it seems a few of you would also. A semi-problem is lots of you regular Bumfuzzlers are friendly with each other and are hesitant to raid one another. That must stop! Jk 🙂 Fine, be friends! That’s great! I’ll just remove the guilt from raiding!

From now on, I’m going to make it more difficult for you to know whose bases are whose. This way when you raid someone, you can’t really feel guilty since you didn’t know it was your friend’s base! When your friend screams they were raided, just tell them you didn’t know! or show genuine concern and vow to track down the person who did it! Revel in the excitement of barging into some unknown person’s house only to find your friend sleeping by the fireplace! Doh!

What does this mean? It means /prod was short lived and the raid notes you see in chat when someone is raiding are going away! I want to add back some of the mystery and secrecy about raiding and being able to see base ownership doesn’t allow for that.

Raid! Be free! Be careless! No worries about hurting feelings! 🙂 You didn’t know who’s base it was! 😉 It wasn’t your fault!

Kits

It turns out after the wipe, I missed resetting kit usage so if you used a kit toward the end of the previous wipe, you may not have been able to use it this wipe due to the cooldown. I’ve gone ahead and reset the kits so this should no longer be the issue. Some of you may get a free kit use, enjoy! Thanks to WRecKLeSS for the heads up!

As I posted last, I removed any of the kits from the website store that might be considered pay to win. It turns out I forgot to remove those kits from /kit in-game. Thanks to isueIt for pointing that out. I’ve now removed those kits.

Discordomics

We have a new Discord event which will provide players with the chance to claim dollars towards their economic balance! The event runs at a random times (usually within the hour) and also provides a random amount of money each time. When it runs, you’ll see messages similar to the messages below.

In the example, you would copy the text /get <code> and then paste it into the chat in game. In this case, by using the command posted in Discord, players would receive 157 dollars in currency! Just hang out in Discord and rake in the dough! Just keep in mind only the first 3 players get the reward so you have to hurry!

Since I enabled it yesterday isueIt is raking in the cash! I see him in Discord grabbing every cent! 🙂 Best to be quick!

Discord Communication

In keeping with the idea of expanding Discord functionality, I’ve implemented the ability for players to communicate with Discord from inside the game. This can be extremely helpful because wherever I am, I get messages on my phone via the Discord app. This means if you need to get in touch with me, you can do use Discord itself or you can be lazy and do it from chat in Rust. Obviously consider I do work so my response time can vary, but at least I’ll know about it at some point – sometimes Steam has  away of losing messages.

So what can you do? Two major things:

  • /report (player) (message) – Reports a player to Discord, tracks their number of reports.
  • /message (message) – Sends message to Discord.

I’ve given everyone access to these commands and as long as it’s not abused, it’ll stay that way. I urge you to use them in order to communicate with me (and Discord).

Buried Treasure

This one should be a lot of fun! Find treasure maps that lead to treasure and gold coins you can cash in for dollars! The treasures can be on land or under water!

When you find a map, simply set it as the active item in your tool belt, type /markmap or right-click (the later seems a little buggy at the moment). The map will be removed from your inventory, you’ll get a message about the grid location in chat where you can find your buried treasure, and the default Rust map (key ‘G’) shows an explosion icon in the specified grid only the map wielding player can see.

Once you get within 5 meters or so, you’ll get an announcement that the loot is nearby and the explosion map icon will be removed. Now you can open loot and take the booty! You may gain new maps from the treasure or even get gold coins!

If you receive gold coins, simply set them as the active item, type /sellgold or right-click (again the later seems buggy right now). You will automatically gain dollars towards your economic balance that you can use in the store.

TIP: DO NOT THROW MAPS OR GOLD COINS ON GROUND! You cannot pick them back up. You can however loot them and store them, give them to others just fine.

Also, note that maps come in 4 rarity flavors as you can see in the picture below.

Rarity Levels:

  • Tan – spawns a basic crates
  • Green – spawns an uncommon crate
  • Blue – spawns a rare crate
  • Purple – spawns an elite crate

Maps will spawn throughout the world in crates and boxes!

If you have any trouble remembering any of this in game, you can type /treasurehelp or !buried or “How does buried treasure work?”, etc.

Next Wipe

Modtopia will be wiping on Thursday 5/24, but Vanillatopia will get a pass until 6/7. I want to see how things go this next cycle, but there’s a chance I may do two things:

  • remove decay or lessen it signifantly

More tweaks to Modtopia Bumfuzzlers! More tweaks! I’m trying to my best to bring things back in line based on your feedback and also with the 1 week wipe cycle. I believe this will happen naturally with gradual changes over the next few wipes. Please provide me with extra feedback during this time. Nothing is written in stone. I’m just doing my best to make things work better. Here we go!

In-Game Store

I think the Skin Perks sold in the store /s were just too cheap. These items are truly powerful! Gaining access to a 2 x damage Bolty or a 2 x gather rate axe, for instance, should be somewhat challenging. With that, I upped all Skin Perk items by 2 RP or $100.

Also with the recent changes to the supply drops I decided to raise the cost of a supply signal 3 RP or $150. The supply drops now have ammo and good weapons along with the Skin Perks and give you multiple quality items so it shouldn’t be that easy to get. Keep in mind you can still /vote for daily signals and there’s also a /kit you can use every 48 hours.

Supply Drops

I’ve made a couple more changes with supply drops.

  • Supply Signals now cooldown for 15 seconds. I’m hoping to allow ‘x’ number of drops within a time frame, but for now I need to prevent server lag just in case someone wants to spam them.
  • I’ve added Blueberries and Blackberries for those of you who are starving. Thanks MrNiceGuy 🙂
  • I’ve weakened the supply signals barely and strengthened the timed airdrops slightly. I want to entice players to go after the automated drops more. The difference is more C4, more weapons and more ammo.

Robbery

I’ve changed the settings for robbery in that now you are unable to rob money from friends and clan mates. A few people have accidentally stolen funds from one another.

Btw, it appears that the money stolen from players is random so there isn’t a set number you can expect. You might get a little, you might get a lot. I’ve heard of situations where players stole 60% of the other person’s  money. Others players got just a tiny bit. The amount is random.

Auto Code Lock

I’ve noticed some players are concerned with the auto code lock – a plugin which automatically sets your combination to code locks the minute you place a code lock. They’re worried that the code used might be something other players would have too. This is surely not the case.

When you place a code lock, the server generates a unique code for you that stays with you unless you change it using /codelock. Every player gets their own unique code. Of course the purpose of the plugin, which I personally love, is to save you the time of entering the same code over and over. That’s a clear waste of time.

To combat this fear, I’ve changed the message you see when you place a code lock to this:

CodeLock secured and locked with your unique personal code: <CODE>. Use /codelock to change it.

This should make it more clear.

Meteor Showers

A few weeks back I recognized that meteor showers were giving quite a bit of resources. At the same time, I figure due to the potential danger involved, maybe that’s ok. In turn, I’ve made a couple of changes to create a much wider range of reward so sometimes the shower might be amazing, but other times just so so. You can also expect to gain raw materials from the showers too. No more refined High Quality Metal and Metal Fragments! You can at least cook the dang resources! 🙂

I’ve changed the items and ranges to the following for the 3 types of showers:

  • extreme meteor shower
    • drops stones, metal ore, high quality metal ore and sulfur ore
    • each item amount ranges from 100 – 2,500
  • mild meteor shower
    • drops stones and metal ore
    • each item amount ranges from 75 – 1,250
  • optimal meteor shower
    • drops stones, metal ore and high quality metal ore
    • each item amount ranges from 100 – 2,000

Broken SuperHeli

It’s a great event when the SuperHeli blows a gasket and goes down, leaving the pilot to eject with his loot waiting for the lucky, wandering Bumfuzzler. However, sometimes it comes way too often. I’ve now set it so that it won’t spawn until the regular SuperHeli spawns for a few times first. This way it’ll be more valuable.

Death Notes

I’ve made an update to Death Notes so when deaths happen, the messages are far more interesting and realistic. Here are a couple examples:

  • <playername> shot a Wolf using their Thompson over a distance of 1.1 meters.
  • <playername> fought off a Gas Station Attendant.
  • <playername> did not want to be a part of the Scientist’s experiments.
  • A Scientist shot down <playername>.
  • <playername> killed <playername> using their Salvaged Icepick.
  • <playername> inflamed <playername> with their Incendiary Rocket.
  • <playername>’s Auto Turret did its job and killed <playername>.

Violence with style! 🙂 I’ll continue to work the kinks out of these.

Discord Additions

I’m going to try to work on Discord a little more than I have in the past, but for now I’m starting off slow. I urge all you Bumfuzzlers to join and hang out there as it’s a fun tool to use in order to share more than just Rust experiences. Lots of you have grown to know each other fairly well over the time you’ve played here so it’s a great way to extend those friendships.

So far, I’ve added two bots to Discord:

  • Mee6 bot added
    • Provides auto moderation, automated messages, member levels based on participation and more.
  • Septapus bot added
    • Makes comics and charts from Discord chat and has been known to post large emojis lol

I’m also going to be posting live updates on Discord when they actually happen. That way you can be updated immediately on changes instead of waiting until I post on the website which usually takes place after a bunch of changes. For instance, the changes in this post took place over a couple of days and I don’t post all changes I make.

Quick update for you Bumfuzzlers on some of the latest changes to the server!

Christmas

Santa is coming so you all better be good! He’s keeping track! 🙂 In the meantime, stockings were nerfed a little because the loot was a bit too OP and the Christmas present glitch where presents were spawning in the air should now be resolved.

Loot Tables

The airdrop loot was substandard and not in line with the rest of the server. They’ve now been adjusted, but will need some tweaking as will the loot overall. Regardless, you should be happier with what you get from them! Don’t forget to vote regularly so you can get additionally daily supply signal!

Airdrops

In addition to the loot tables being adjusted, I’ve changed some behaviors of the airdrops.

  • Shoot em down: For one, you can shoot them down now! It requires 10 shots. This is great if you’d like to force them to the ground faster so you can get out of there with the goodies!
  • Signal Multiple Crates: Now when tossing supply signals, you may get more than 1 supply crate! This is random so it shouldn’t give you extra crates all the time, but certainly once in a while. This may need some tweaking which I’ll do over time.
  • Scheduled Mass Airdrop: Lastly, at various times, you’ll find mass airdrops inbound with up to 3 crates at a time! Enjoy the goodies!

Discord

Many of you might not know, but we have a Discord server. I won’t lie, I don’t manage it well or often, and I don’t participate much, but it does exist so you can all jump in and communicate as you’d like.
